Where is Bente Dorte, and from where can you sail?

Bente Dorte is moored in Bakar on the north east Adriatic coast. Bakar has a long tradition of sailing ships, and many famous Croatian sea captains hail from here. It is close to Rijeka and easily accessible by plane, train, bus and car. If you fly you can choose from Zagreb, Rijeka and Trieste (Italy) airports. If you choose to start your sailing charter in Pula, Zadar, Split or Dubrovnik you fly directly there.

We offer 3-14 day traditional sailing charters that can either be booked individually or as whole boat booking. We can also tailor sailing expeditions for groups that want to combine sailing with participating in traditional boat races, hiking, diving, sky diving, horse back riding, wine tasting etc, and this type of combination sailing charter can be designed for any number of days, but typically 7-10 days is the most popular.

All bookings include breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks and snacks are not included, special food requirements and/or allergies must be notified well in advance. If a group wishes to eat lunch and/or dinner out, this can be adjusted in the price of the booking, however this is only possible for whole boat bookings. We also provide bedding, and safety equipment. See our suggestion of how to pack for the trip.

ONE-WAY JOURNEYS– we are able to offer you one-way charters from Bakar, Zadar, Split or Dubrovnik. This route covers the most popular cruising grounds and promises to be a top-of-the-line holiday experience. From Bakar your itinerary allows you to explore the Kornati group, and to visit the mainland towns of Sibenik, Trogir and Split. Split is the gateway to the popular Dalmatian islands from Brac and Hvar to Korcula and Mljet, and others in between, all the way to Dubrovnik.

BAKAR in the Kvarner bay in the north, near Italy, is the gateway to an exhilarating sailing area with sheltered waters, steady winds and a variety of anchorages. From Bakar, it’s a 6-hour sail to the northern cruising grounds, but then it’s island hopping. BAKAR is also accessible via Zagreb, approx 2 hours by land. A 7-10 day sailing trip from Bakar is ideal for cruising south to Kornati and Krk National Parks.

ZADAR is midway along the coast with easiest access to the more barren and sparsely populated Kornati National Park, a group of over 100 barren islands, rocks and reefs. Their stark beauty contrasts greatly with the lush, green, pine-clad islands further south. They have very little vegetation, very few restaurants but offer peace and beautiful, clear water for swimming. A 7-10 day charter from Zadar is ideal for cruising south to Kornati National Park, and either North to Krk National Park, or South towards the more populated central region of Split.

SPLIT and the Dalmatian Coast lies most central and with best international access to flights, ferries and charter yachts. It’s central position allows you to cruise north to the Kornati and Sibenik, and south to the favourite islands of Hvar, Korcula, Brac, Mljet, Lastovo and Vis and as far as Dubrovnik, an ideal itinerary for a 2-week charter.
